1.Today *(21st September)* is *International Day of Peace* / *World Peace Day.* This day was *1st celebrated in 1982.*

*Theme:_* “The Right to Peace - The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70”

2.According to the *2018 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index* released by *United Nations*, over *270 million people* in
*India* moved *out of poverty* in the *decade since 2005-06.*

The Report stated that *India's poverty rate* came down to *27.5% from 54.7%* during the period.


3 *Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)* has launched *India’s National Database of Sexual Offenders (NDSO).* With this, India became the *9th nation* to maintain such thorough database.

*NDSO* will *not be available for general public* but *only to law enforcement agencies.*

It will have database of containing *key details of convicted sexual offenders* such as their *names, residential address, photographs, fingerprints, DNA samples, Aadhaar numbers and Personal Account Numbers (PANs).*

4. *Pakistan* has invited *Saudi Arabia* to join *$50 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)* as the *3rd strategic partner.* Formal request in this regard was made after Pakistan *PM Imran Khan* visited Saudi Arabia during his first foreign trip after getting elected.

5. *DRDO* has *successfully flight tested* indigenously developed surface-to-surface short-range tactical ballistic missile *‘Prahaar’.* It was launched from mobile launcher from *Balasore, Odisha Coast.*

6. *Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)* has recently exchanged *MoUs* with *Tata Trusts and Dell* to *provide technological platform* for nationwide prevention, control, screening and management program of *Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs).*

7. *Anushka Sharma* facilitated with the *Smita Patil Memorial Award 2018*, by *Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Piyush Goyal* at *Priyadarshni Academy 34th Anniversary Global Awards*, in *Mumbai.*
